Amy Nichols has been planning bespoke weddings and celebrations for over a decade. Born and raised on an avocado and lemon farm in Southern California, she has always had a love of nature, design and entertaining! After graduating from Middlebury College, she began her career in finance in New York City and quickly realized that passion for celebrating life’s moments could be a rewarding and fulfilling profession. From there, she made her way back to California and founded Amy Nichols Special Events in 2005, where her affinity for details and welcoming personality have earned her a sterling reputation.

Amy believes that life is full of reasons to celebrate. She cherishes the role she gets to play in the lives of her clients, serving as both a close confidant and a trustworthy advocate as she works tirelessly to execute the refined, effortless events for which she is known. After nearly a decade working at Chicago’s top advertising agencies followed by several years planning events for non-profit organizations, Beth Bernstein founded SQN Events in May 2009, added Essential I Dos to the SQN brand in 2020, and is a founding member of the Small Wedding Society.

A recipient of Wish Upon a Wedding’s Shining Star Award, Beth is well-respected amongst her peers as a leader in the industry, taking strong stands on topics such as transparency with clients, community over competition, and mental health awareness.

A New Jersey native living in Chicago for 25 years, Beth brings her East Coast edge and Midwest charm together, getting sh*t done with a smile. When she’s not working, you can find Beth at a coffee shop, SoulCycle, volunteering, or screaming her head off at her son’s hockey games. Beth resides in Chicago with her husband, Dan, and two children, Zoe and Jason.

Although she didn’t realize it at the time, Gretchen’s desire to run her own business started at a young age with her summer lemonade stands. After college, a lemonade stand didn’t seem to be the best way to pay back her student loans, so she entered the world of events working for a catering company. She quickly fell in love with weddings and has been creating them ever since.

Over the past 14 years, Gretchen has worked in almost every area of the industry. She launched her own event planning company, Rocket Science Events, in 2010, hoping to revolutionize weddings. In the same revolutionary spirit she launched Minne Weddings in 2020. Her side hustle is coaching and consulting for creatives.

Gretchen has been named one of the “30 under 40 to watch” by Special Events magazine and one of BRIDES and Martha Stewart’s Top Planners. Her work has won international awards and been featured in magazines, online and on TV.  She is active in her local International Live Events Association (ILEA) chapter and a founding member of the Small Wedding Society.

After a successful decade-long law career in New York City, Lulu Alexander, followed her creative heart to New Orleans, to plan bespoke & intimate destination wedding weekends for couples from around the world.

With a background in producing and directing live and recorded television for the better part of 10 years, Wendy is the definition of “quick on your feet.” She prides herself on being a professional problem solver—which has served her well in her 10 years of planning and executing flawless events.

Wendy founded Birds of a Feather Events in 2010 after planning her own wedding, and has continued on to become a serial entrepreneur of sorts starting several sister companies, including Tiny Weddings Dallas in 2020. With a straightforward approach, Wendy builds a rapport with her clients. She believes that the more she gets to know her couples, the better (and more personal) the wedding will be.

Wendy is thrilled to be on the BRIDES list of Best Wedding Planners in the US as well as named a Top Planner to follow by Martha Stewart Weddings. When she’s not working or traveling you can find Wendy at home in Fort Worth with her husband and 2 cats. She is an 8, if you follow Enneagrams, and she is a proud member of Ravenclaw house.
